The room I stayed in was one of those spaces that just works — not flashy, but everything you actually need is there and done well. The bed was properly comfortable (I mean, you can tell when a hotel has invested in decent mattresses), and the bathroom had that rainfall shower head that makes you linger longer than you planned. What struck me was the attention to small details — good lighting for actually reading, enough power outlets where you need them, and windows that open properly for fresh air. It’s the kind of apartment-style setup that makes you feel settled rather than just passing through.

Breakfast here is where they really show off, though they do it quietly. The full English option is solid — proper bacon, eggs cooked how you want them, the works. But what impressed me was how seriously they take the alternatives: the vegan options aren’t afterthoughts, and the gluten-free choices actually taste like food you’d choose rather than settle for. If you’re rushing off somewhere, they’ll sort you out with breakfast to go, which saved me more than once when I had early meetings in the city center.

  Good location, comfortable and toasty warm on a cold night.
  
  What could be improved: There was no parking available and I had to park around the block on the middle of winter with heavy bags as there was no car parking available. I had to lug my suitcase around the block by myself. For a hotel to not have enough parking is ridiculous. I bought one of their frozen meals which was so disgusting. The smell of it heating up made me nauseous. The microwave wasn’t powerful enough to heat it up properly as per the instructions. I had to put it back in 3 times.

  What could be improved: They use a terrible sweet smelling cleaning product everywhere which gave a bad headache. I had to buy anti histamines and when booking get a balcony room as the windows are sealed so the air con was too hot and stuffy.

  Property is in an ideal location. Check in process was efficient and staff very hospitable.
