You’re about 10 minutes from Parliament House and the city center, but you’re also right next to Westfield Woden if you need to grab anything (which, let’s be honest, you probably will). The couples who stay here seem to really get it — there’s something nice about being close enough to everything without being right in the thick of tourist central. Plus, parking here doesn’t make you want to cry, unlike some other parts of Canberra. The accessibility and convenience of the location make it an ideal base for exploring the region.

The Room Experience

The beds at Abode Woden are genuinely excellent — and I’m someone who usually struggles to sleep well in hotels. They’ve clearly invested in proper mattresses and bedding, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how many places get this wrong. The rooms themselves are clean-lined and functional, with enough space to actually unpack if you’re staying more than a night. There’s decent natural light, and the bathrooms are modern without trying too hard to be Instagram-worthy.
