Hotel Description
You know, I ended up at the Adina Serviced Apartments in Kingston last time I was in Canberra – it was one of those trips where I needed a spot that felt more like a home base than just a hotel room, especially since I was there for a week poking around the national galleries and whatnot. It’s tucked away on Giles Street, right in the heart of Kingston, which is this funky little suburb that’s got that old-school charm mixed with some trendy vibes. I mean, you step out the door and you’re basically stumbling into Green Square with its cafes and that great little bakery that does killer sourdough – perfect for grabbing a coffee before heading over to Lake Burley Griffin for a walk. The building itself isn’t flashy; it’s more of a low-key apartment block with that cream-colored facade that blends right in with the neighborhood. Check-in was a breeze, honestly – the staff were super chill, handed over the keys without any fuss, and even gave me a heads-up about the free parking out back, which is a godsend in Canberra where spots can vanish during peak times like Floriade season in spring.
What really sold me on the place was how practical it all felt – these are serviced apartments, so my one-bedroom setup had a full kitchen (nothing fancy, but the stove worked fine for whipping up some pasta after a long day), a comfy lounge area with a sofa that didn’t sag like some budget spots do, and even a balcony overlooking the quiet street. The rooms aren’t huge, but they’re clean and airy, with that fresh linen smell you appreciate when you’ve been on the road. I remember the bed was decently firm – not the plushiest, but it did the trick for sleeping off the jet lag. Oh, and there’s a pool downstairs that’s heated, which was clutch in the cooler months; I dipped in one evening and it was dead quiet, just the hum of the filter and that chlorine tang in the air. Noise-wise, it’s pretty peaceful for being so central – you might hear some chatter from the nearby pubs on Eyre Street on weekends, but nothing that kept me up. One minor gripe? The Wi-Fi could be spotty in the evenings when everyone’s streaming, but hey, it’s rated an 8 for a reason – solid without pretending to be luxury. And if you’re into local eats, you’re steps from places like the Old Bus Depot Markets on Sundays, where you can snag fresh produce or artisanal stuff that beats hotel breakfast any day.
All in all, if you’re heading to Canberra and want something that’s not going to break the bank but still gives you space to spread out – maybe with a family or for a work trip – I’d say give Adina a go. It’s got that 3.5-star vibe that’s unpretentious and reliable, you know? I left feeling like I’d found a little gem in Kingston, especially compared to the more sterile spots downtown near Parliament House. Just book ahead if it’s summer; things fill up fast with all the tourists flocking to the lake. Trust me, it’s the kind of place that makes you want to linger a bit longer in the capital.

What could be improved: Very low water pressure in the shower and having the shower over the bath made access difficultVery good – Cathy from Australia – 30 April 2025 (8/10)
Location was excellent. Room very comfortable. Very close to Manuka Oval – great for football there..
What could be improved: Our room was a long walk from the lift with several groups of steps on the way – difficult with luggage.Canberra 3 night break – Heather from Australia – 26 March 2025 (9/10)
Have stayed here before and love the location. Lovely quiet and private apartment. Great to have a washing machine and dryer.
What could be improved: Very few cooking implements and very small kitchen. Our last experience had a great kitchen and allowed us to prepare meals but this one is more suited to guests who wish to eat out for all meals.I'd happily go again! – Belinda from Australia – 17 March 2025 (8/10)

Location is amazing for our purposes. Apartment is very comfortable. Outlook is lovely.
Dude, where's my entertainment? – Stephanie from Australia – 2 March 2025 (7/10)
Good location, good size room. Inadequate internet and entertainment facilities:
1) TV should be joined to hotel wifi network to allow guests to cast content from their phone to the TV; Or, the network settings should be unlocked to allow guests to join the TV to a phone hotspot. This is standard practice since at least 2015.
2) Internet speeds and allowances are reminiscent of the early 2000s ADSL1-era. Totally substandard in today's world and simply not value for your guests' money. If this is because your area is not yet upgraded to FTTP by NBN, then you should be providing Foxtel for each guest as standard. Don't skimp on internet.
The above two need to be improved, or my partner and I will no longer consider your hotel in future visits.
