It’s tucked right on Belconnen Way in the heart of Belconnen, which is this bustling suburb about 10-15 minutes drive from the city center, depending on traffic. If you’re coming from the airport, it’s a breeze – just hop on the Majura Parkway and you’re there in under half an hour. I remember pulling up in the late afternoon; the place has that no-frills, welcoming vibe with a simple brick facade and plenty of parking spots out front (free, by the way, which is a godsend in Canberra where street parking can be a nightmare). Check-in was quick and friendly – the staff were chatty locals who tipped me off about grabbing coffee at the nearby Westfield Belconnen mall, just a five-minute walk away. Oh, and if you’re into nature, Lake Ginninderra is practically around the corner for a morning jog or a picnic – it’s one of those spots Canberrans love but tourists often miss.

What really sold me on it, though, was the serviced apartment setup – I mean, for a 3-star joint with a 7.7 rating, it’s got that practical edge for anyone staying more than a night or two. My room was one of those one-bedroom apartments with a little kitchenette (microwave, fridge, even a stovetop), which saved me from eating out every meal – I whipped up a simple brekkie with stuff from the IGA down the road. The bed was comfy enough, with those crisp white sheets that smell faintly of laundry detergent, and the bathroom was spotless, though the tiles felt a tad dated, like something from the ’90s. It’s not flashy – no spa or fancy gym here – but there’s a small outdoor pool that’s great for cooling off in summer (Canberra gets surprisingly hot then), and the Wi-Fi held up fine for streaming. Noise-wise, it’s pretty quiet at night since Belconnen Way isn’t a major highway, but you might hear some early morning traffic if your window faces the road. I appreciated the self-service laundry downstairs too – super handy after a day hiking in Namadgi National Park, about 40 minutes south. Well, one minor gripe: the air con was a bit noisy, but nothing a white noise app couldn’t fix.

All in all, if you’re looking for a no-fuss base to explore Canberra – think hitting up Parliament House or the National Gallery without the downtown hustle – this place is worth considering. It’s affordable, especially during the quieter winter months when the city’s not swamped with pollies and events, and it feels authentically local rather than some sterile chain. I’d go back, honestly – just pack your own coffee pods if you’re picky, as the in-room ones are basic. You get good value here, and that’s what matters when you’re traveling on a budget.   Room was very comfortable and met our needs. It was nice and warm for a winter night. Free onsite parking was a big plus compared to inner Canberra alternatives.

  The location, the room was spacious and comfortable.
  
  What could be improved: Only missing item was a microwave, for a family with a kid i think that could be an useful item. But it doesn't mean that the place was good enough and value for money. Ample hot food location's are available with close proximity. Woolworth and kfc is just within 100 metres jut a matter of one stairs. 😀

  What could be improved: The shower water flowed into the batchroom – there is no lip to stop the floor flooding – had to use towel to stop it coming out of shower. The tiles are flat so no dipping point to permit water to drain properly.
