Hotel Description
You know, I stumbled upon Boujee in Braddon during a quick getaway to Canberra last spring, and honestly, it was one of those spots that just clicks when you’re tired of sterile hotel chains. Tucked away on Mort Street in the heart of Braddon – that’s that funky suburb right next to the city center, where the vibe shifts from government buildings to hip cafes and street art – this one-bedroom apartment feels like a stylish little hideaway. I mean, arriving after a long drive, I appreciated the self-check-in setup; no fussing with a front desk, just a code texted to my phone, and boom, you’re in. Parking was a bit of a hunt – street spots fill up fast, especially on weekends when Lonsdale Street down the block turns into a buzzing hub of brunch spots and craft breweries – but I snagged one nearby without too much drama. The building itself is modern, with that clean, minimalist exterior that blends right into Braddon’s evolving scene, you know, the kind where old warehouses are getting a trendy makeover.
Stepping inside, it’s got this boujee edge without trying too hard – think sleek kitchenette with marble countertops that actually feel cool under your hands, and a comfy queen bed piled with those plush linens that make you want to sleep in. The place is spotless, with big windows letting in that crisp Canberra light (though watch out for the afternoon glare if you’re napping). I loved brewing coffee in the mornings and smelling the faint waft of fresh pastries from the bakery around the corner on Elouera Street – it’s those little sensory perks that make it feel lived-in, not just a rental. The bathroom’s got a rainfall shower that was a godsend after hiking around Lake Burley Griffin, which is only a 10-minute drive or a leisurely walk if you’re up for it. Oh, and there’s decent Wi-Fi for streaming, plus a small balcony where I sat with a glass of local wine, listening to the distant hum of traffic – it’s not dead quiet at night, what with Braddon’s nightlife spilling over, but earplugs sorted that out easily. One minor gripe: the space is cozy for two, but if you’re packing heavy, storage might feel tight – sort of like squeezing into a chic urban nest.
All in all, if you’re hitting Canberra for work or play – maybe catching a show at the Canberra Theatre or just wandering the National Gallery – this spot’s a smart pick. It’s got that 4-star polish with an 8.6 rating that feels earned, without the corporate fluff. Well, I ended up extending my stay because it was so easy to pop out for dinner at places like Italian and Sons (highly recommend their pasta), and come back to unwind. Not the cheapest, but for the location and that effortless cool factor, it’s worth it – especially in the quieter shoulder seasons when Braddon isn’t swarming with tourists. If you’re after something authentic and low-key luxurious, give Boujee a go; it’ll make your trip feel a bit more like home away from home.

What could be improved: Ground outside door was sticky due spilt liquid. Could not avoid getting it on shoes. I was told it would be cleaned but was not.Exceptional – Maria from Australia – 20 May 2025 (10/10)
Location, on-site parking. Comfortable apartment.
What could be improved: The check-in process was a bit of a task. Key and entry fob are not held on site.
There is no signage to confirm we were at the correct location, only the street number.
Once we had the key and entered the carpark, everything was great. And we enjoyed our stay.Exceptional – Judy from Australia – 15 November 2024 (10/10)

Nice big kitchen, walk in closet space was handy, furniture was comfortable and supportive.
What could be improved: Just two things! First we didnt like that the shower opened forwards so that after every shower water would go all over the floor. The other was just the ac unit left a fishy odor in the unit when it was being used.Nice Canberra apartment close to everything. – David from Australia – 3 January 2025 (9/10)
A nice apartment on the edge of the CBD, with plenty of options for food within a short distance if you didn't feel the need to cook for yourself.
What could be improved: Not much at all
