Hotel Description
You know, I stumbled upon the CBD High Level City View 1BR Apt while planning a quick getaway to Canberra last spring – honestly, I was just looking for something central without breaking the bank, and this place on Cooyong Street totally delivered. It’s tucked right in the heart of the CBD, like a stone’s throw from the bustle of Civic Square and those trendy spots in Braddon where you can grab a flat white at Lonsdale Street Roasters (pro tip: go early to avoid the uni crowd from ANU spilling over). Pulling up, I was relieved to snag that free parking spot in the building’s garage – parking in Canberra’s city center can be a nightmare, especially during peak hours when everyone’s commuting in from the suburbs. The check-in was a breeze, self-service with a code they texted me, no fussing with a front desk at odd hours. Stepping into the elevator (which, fair warning, can be a tad slow during rush times), I rode up to one of the higher floors, and bam – that city view hit me like a fresh breeze. We’re talking panoramic glimpses of the parliamentary triangle and even a peek at Lake Burley Griffin on clearer days, all from your own balcony where you can sip a morning coffee and hear the distant hum of traffic below, mixed with birds chirping from nearby parks.
What really sold me on this spot – I mean, besides the solid 4-star vibes and that 8.7 rating that feels well-earned – is how it feels like a proper home base rather than some sterile hotel room. It’s a one-bedroom apartment, so you’ve got space to spread out: a comfy queen bed with those crisp white sheets that smell faintly of lavender detergent (they must use something nice), a full kitchen where I whipped up a simple brekkie using goodies from the nearby Canberra Centre markets – fresh berries and all. The living area has this sleek, modern setup with a big TV for bingeing shows after a day out, and the bathroom’s got decent water pressure in the shower, which is a godsend after hiking around Mount Ainslie (just a 10-minute drive away, by the way). Oh, and the free Wi-Fi is speedy enough for work calls if you’re mixing business with pleasure – I got through a Zoom without any glitches. It’s not perfect, though; the building can pick up a bit of street noise from Cooyong if you’re a light sleeper, especially on weekends when the bars in the area get lively. But pop in some earplugs or close the double-glazed windows, and you’re golden. I loved how quiet it gets after dark, sort of that peaceful contrast to the daytime energy.
All in all, if you’re heading to Canberra – whether for a conference at the convention center (literally a short walk away) or just to explore the galleries and that underrated food scene – this apartment’s a smart pick. It’s got that authentic city-living feel without the hassle, and at that price point with the parking thrown in, it’s a steal compared to some of the pricier chains nearby. I’d go back in a heartbeat, especially in autumn when the leaves turn and the view pops even more. Just book ahead during events like Floriade; it fills up fast.

Family-oriented, cozy, clean, fully-furnished , convenient and host is – Kath from Australia – 22 August 2024 (10/10)
This is our first time at this apartment and we, especially the kids, love this unit. The place is very clean, fully-furnished, safe and quiet and very close to the mall. The room is bright and you can literally feel the sunrise greeting you a warm morning. The ground level has chinese restaurants and a coffeeshop, and there is also a medical clinic. Jane is very organised and communicates very well. She has all the instructions everywhere and she takes very good care of you. Overall, it's so relaxing and convenient to stay in this apartment. We will definitely come back.

Excellent quality property. We had a very comfortable stay. – Alok from Singapore – 26 February 2024 (9/10)
The property had taken care of every little detail and was aesthetically designed. All the stuff from utensils to toiletries was of excellent quality. Its location in front of the Canberra Centre is a great plus. When we requested for clothes stand, the property manager was quick to send a new one the next morning.
