You know what? I wasn’t sure what to expect from Cosy getaway in the Heart of Braddon – Hosted by Canstay when I first booked it – the name’s a bit of a mouthful, honestly – but this place absolutely delivers on that “cosy” promise. Tucked right into Braddon‘s creative quarter, you’re literally steps away from some of Canberra’s best coffee roasters and that amazing Saturday farmers market at EPIC. I mean, I could smell the fresh sourdough from Lonsdale Street Roasters wafting through the windows most mornings, which isn’t exactly a bad way to wake up.

The space itself feels like staying at a design-savvy friend’s place rather than some sterile accommodation. There’s this lovely mix of mid-century furniture and local artwork that actually works together – none of that generic hotel room vibe you get elsewhere. The kitchen‘s properly equipped too (I’m talking real knives and decent pans), which was perfect since I picked up way too much cheese and wine from the markets. Storage is cleverly done throughout, and honestly, the bed was one of those “sink right in after a long day exploring” situations. The bathroom’s compact but well thought out, with one of those rainfall showerheads that made me not want to check out on time.

What really won me over though was the location – Braddon’s got this perfect balance where you feel plugged into Canberra’s cultural scene without dealing with city center chaos. You can walk to Lonsdale Street for dinner (try Akiba if you haven’t), then stroll back through Haig Park after dark feeling completely safe. Parking was surprisingly easy along the residential streets, and when friends visited, we could walk to NewActon in about fifteen minutes or catch the light rail into the city proper. The Canstay hosting was spot-on too – they sent detailed local recommendations that went beyond the obvious tourist spots, plus check-in was seamless with clear instructions. I’d definitely stay here again, especially with that 9.5 rating making perfect sense once you experience how everything just works smoothly together.

  I loved how homley it was . Very clean .great location. Would definitely stay there again
