Hotel Description
You know, I stumbled upon the Dana-Cozy Apartment with Shared Entry in the City during a quick trip to Canberra last spring, and honestly, it turned out to be one of those hidden gems that doesn’t scream “fancy hotel” but just feels right for a low-key stay. Tucked away on City Walk – that’s right in the heart of Civic, where the vibes are all about that mix of bustling cafes and office workers grabbing flat whites – the address is 201-222 City Walk, smack dab in the middle of things. I mean, you step out the door and you’re basically on the doorstep of the Canberra Centre for some shopping, or you can wander over to Glebe Park if you need a breather from the city hum. First off, the shared entry thing? It’s like walking into a regular apartment building – a bit of a foyer with buzzers and maybe a neighbor saying g’day – which keeps it feeling authentic and not too polished. Check-in was a breeze; they emailed me the codes ahead of time, so no fussing around at a desk, though I did have to lug my bags up a flight of stairs since the lift was out that day (minor gripe, but hey, it’s a 3-star spot with an 8.1 rating, so expectations are managed). Inside, the apartment was surprisingly cozy – think soft, lived-in couches that actually invite you to sink in after a day out, and a little kitchenette with a microwave that smelled faintly of fresh herbs from whoever stayed before. The bed? Firm but comfy, with those crisp white sheets that make you feel like you’re crashing at a mate’s place rather than some sterile room.
What really sold me, though, was how it fits right into Canberra’s rhythm – you know, that quiet capital city energy where things wind down early. Mornings, I’d wake to the distant clatter of trams on Northbourne Avenue nearby, and the smell of baking bread wafting up from the bakery downstairs (pro tip: grab a croissant from there before heading to Lake Burley Griffin for a walk; it’s only a 10-minute stroll). The place is spotless, with wooden floors that creak just enough to feel homey, and big windows letting in that crisp ACT sunlight – perfect for reading or planning your day. Parking’s a bit of a hassle in the city center; I ended up using the paid spots on Bunda Street, which aren’t cheap during peak hours, but if you’re on foot or using the light rail, it’s ideal. Noise-wise, it’s mostly quiet after 10 PM, though you might hear the occasional door slam from the shared entry – nothing major, but earplugs if you’re a light sleeper. And let’s be real, for a 3-star rating, the value’s spot on; I cooked up a simple pasta dinner one night using the basic appliances, saving me from overpriced eats at the nearby restaurants on Lonsdale Street.
All in all, if you’re heading to Canberra for work or just to check out the museums – like the National Gallery, which is an easy bus ride away – this spot’s worth considering. It’s not glamorous, but it’s genuine, comfortable, and puts you right in the action without the pretension. I’d go back in a heartbeat, especially in autumn when the leaves turn and the city’s at its prettiest. Just pack light if stairs are an issue, and you’ll be set.

Great location – Nicky86 from Australia – 10 July 2025 (8/10)
Super convenient location
What could be improved: Parking situation could have been better, but it worked outVery good – Shakila from Australia – 25 June 2025 (8/10)
It was clean. Room has a heating cooling AC. And a quite nice balcony. Very convenient position. Right at the front there is a shopping center with all the big shops.
What could be improved: The instructions can be complicated as you have to enter through the shared doorway of apartment 201 to find either room 1 and 2 (it makes more sense on the spot). If you are still puzzled and send them a message, you will not get any reply from them. Washroom should have sandals, as I personally don't like to walk batefoot in other's toilet.could not fault this property – Lisa from Australia – 20 June 2025 (8/10)
Everything, cost, location , property was amazing

Excellent location
What could be improved: Improve soundproofing; I can hear someone coughing next door.Nice place, will be back again. – Shyamtanu from Australia – 28 January 2025 (9/10)
Just as published… awesome location, Coles and woolies are at walking distance so you can get all your groceries. The hosts are very friendly.
What could be improved: The parking is tricky and the shutter closes faster than expected, not a fault of the host as it is an apartment building, but the host helped me to take the car out, they did not have to, which is really commendable on their part. It takes 20 to park for a night which is outside the tariff so just be aware but that is the best option to park if you are staying.Great location – Mcinerney-percy from Australia – 26 January 2025 (9/10)
Close to ANU, directly in the middle of the city
What could be improved: The shower wasn’t great. Furnishing was spare but overall a great for what we needed.Good – Nicole from Australia – 18 December 2024 (7/10)
Very clean, great location.

Convenient, basic, serviceable, secure and clean. – Wendy from Australia – 22 October 2024 (7/10)
Good location right in the city centre. Kitchen facilities fine. Very clean. Clear instructions on how to enter. Secure.
What could be improved: Parking on street outside only 1/2 hour not the 2 hours advised. Shower was not great. Couch in living room could convert to a bed – not that comfy to sit on.
