Little Gem in the City Overview
You know what? I almost walked right past Little Gem in the City the first time I was looking for it – and honestly, that’s part of its charm. The name isn’t just marketing fluff; this place really is tucked away like a secret that locals don’t want tourists to discover. There’s something refreshing about a hotel that doesn’t need to shout about itself from the street.
The moment you step inside, you get why they call it a gem. I mean, the lobby isn’t massive or flashy, but there’s this attention to detail that you don’t see everywhere – think carefully chosen artwork that actually means something, not just generic hotel wall fillers. The staff genuinely seems to know what they’re doing too, which is rarer than it should be. During check-in, the front desk person mentioned a few local spots that weren’t in any guidebook I’d read, and they were absolutely right about the coffee place around the corner that opens at 6 AM for early risers.
What really got me was how quiet the rooms are, considering you’re right in the middle of everything. The walls must be properly insulated because I barely heard any street noise, even though I could see the city buzz happening just outside my window. The room itself felt like someone actually lives there – not in a messy way, but in that comfortable, thought-out way where everything has a purpose. The bathroom products weren’t the usual generic stuff either; they’d clearly put some thought into sourcing things that actually work. And here’s a small thing that matters more than it should: the Wi-Fi actually works consistently, which honestly shouldn’t be noteworthy in 2024 but somehow still is. The whole place has this lived-in elegance that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something special rather than just booked another room for the night. It’s the kind of place where you find yourself staying in a bit longer than planned, not because there’s nowhere else to go, but because you genuinely don’t want to leave.

The perfect location. Very well appointed with everything you need if you want to make your own meals. A very pleasant balcony. The dishwasher and laundry is a great advantage. Having your own lock up garage means your car is safe.
Close to the big shopping centre with everything you need.
All up a great place to stay.
What could be improved: Maybe some salad serving cutlery. I know, a first world problem.

What could be improved: NothingVery good – Manjushree from Australia – 3 January 2025 (8/10)
We had a wonderful two-day stay at this apartment. The space was clean, cozy, and exactly as described in the listing. Both check-in and check-out were incredibly smooth. The location was convenient, with easy access to local attractions and restaurants. The amenities provided were great and made my stay comfortable
What could be improved: The only minor thing was the lack of complimentary snacks and drinks, which would have been a nice touch, but it didn’t take away from the overall experience. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay!
