Hotel Description
You know, I stumbled upon the Midnight Luxe 1BR Apartment during a quick getaway to Canberra last spring, and honestly, it turned out to be one of those spots that just clicks – like, you walk in and think, “Okay, this is how a city break should feel.” It’s tucked away on Elouera Street, right in the heart of Braddon, which, if you’re not familiar, is that buzzy suburb just a stone’s throw from Civic. We’re talking a 10-minute wander to Lonsdale Street for killer coffee at places like Barrio Collective or those wood-fired pizzas at Italian & Sons – perfect if you’re into that laid-back vibe without the hassle of downtown traffic. I arrived around dusk, and check-in was a breeze; it’s one of those self-contained setups with a code for the door, no fussing with a front desk, though they do have someone on call if you need it. The secure parking downstairs was a godsend – Canberra’s parking can be a nightmare, especially on weekends when everyone’s hitting the markets or Lake Burley Griffin for a stroll. Oh, and they left a bottle of local wine in the fridge, which was a nice touch after a long drive; nothing fancy, but it paired well with the city lights twinkling outside.
Stepping into the apartment on level 7, it felt more like a stylish friend’s pad than a generic hotel room – modern without trying too hard, with these massive windows framing views over Braddon and out toward the Brindabellas on a clear day. The one-bedroom setup is spacious enough for a couple or even a solo traveler who wants room to spread out; the bed’s super comfy, all crisp linens and that plush feel that makes you sleep like a log, despite the faint hum of Mort Street traffic below (it’s not bad, but earplugs if you’re a light sleeper). The kitchenette’s got everything – Nespresso machine, microwave, even a dishwasher – so I whipped up breakfast without issue. But the real star? The building’s amenities on the same floor: there’s this rooftop pool that’s heated just right, with a sauna that smells faintly of eucalyptus (they must use some local oils), and a gym that’s actually decent, not one of those afterthought ones with dusty weights. I mean, swimming laps at sunset with that view? Unreal. Wifi was speedy too, no buffering during my late-night Netflix binge. It’s all pretty quiet mid-week, but weekends might get a bit lively with other guests – nothing rowdy, though.
Look, if you’re heading to Canberra for work or just to explore – maybe hitting up the National Gallery or Questacon – this place makes it effortless. At 4 stars with a 9.7 rating, it’s not overpriced luxury, but it delivers on the essentials plus those little extras that stick with you. I’d go back in a heartbeat, especially in autumn when the leaves turn and Braddon’s cafes are buzzing. Just pack light; the elevator’s reliable, but who needs extra baggage when everything’s right there?

Excellent weekend away. – Maurizio from Australia – 10 March 2025 (10/10)
Excellent location. In the centre of the action but not noisy. The unit is well stocked in terms of crockery, condiments and cleaning products. Good Wifi and 2 smart TV’s for BYO streaming. The host is super responsive. Highly recommended.
What could be improved: Pillows if we had to pick anything were a little too soft for our liking. Not a biggy though.Exceptional – Lisaclare from Australia – 13 February 2025 (10/10)
Beautifully appointed, easy check in process. Complimentary wine was a lovely touch. Such a great location – across the road from the light rail but also an easy walk to all the restaurants and shops. Spare towels (including for pool) and bedding (handy for different sleeping temperature). Host communication was excellent – clear and timely. Sauna and pool were great. I really enjoyed my stay and would book again

What could be improved: Nothing!Fantastic stay in the Braddon area! – Thi from Australia – 4 November 2024 (10/10)
Stayed with my family for 3 nights and the location and the Braddon area was amazing. Apartment was spotlessly clean and well equipped with everything we needed. My daughters loved the pool and partner and I loved using the sauna and being walking distance to cafes, shops and city centre. Communication with the host was exceptional and instructions left were very clear. Would definitely stay here again if we visited Canberra again.
