Braddon’s one of those neighborhoods locals rave about – think trendy cafes on Lonsdale Street spilling out with coffee aromas and hipster vibes, and you’re only a 10-minute walk from the city center or a short drive to Lake Burley Griffin for those crisp morning jogs. The building itself is modern without being flashy, sort of understated luxe, and check-in was a breeze; no front desk drama, just a secure key code system that felt safe and straightforward. I mean, arriving after dark (hence the “Midnight” bit, I suppose), the place lit up warmly, and stepping into the 2-bedroom suite – wow, it was spacious, like actually roomy enough for a family or a couple of mates without feeling cramped. The two bathrooms were a godsend after a day exploring the National Gallery – no queuing for showers, and the beds? Plush, with that fresh linen smell that makes you sink right in.

The pool’s heated, which is clutch in winter – I spent a quiet evening splashing around, the water steaming just a tad, cutting through that chilly Canberra air. Gym’s compact but solid, with free weights and a treadmill overlooking the street (pro tip: go early to avoid the post-work crowd from nearby offices). And the sauna? Oh man, after hiking around Mount Ainslie, it was pure bliss – that woody, steamy scent melting away the soreness. It’s not massive, so it can get a bit cozy if others are using it, but honestly, that’s a minor gripe; most times it was all mine. Noise-wise, Elouera’s pretty chill – some faint traffic hum from Northbourne Avenue, but nothing that kept me up, especially with the double-glazed windows.
