It’s tucked away in the 2602 postcode, right in the heart of Dickson, which is this buzzing suburb just a stone’s throw from the city center. I mean, you can walk to those awesome Asian eateries on Woolley Street in like five minutes – think steaming bowls of pho from Pho Hub or grabbing a coffee at Sweet Bones if you’re vegan and into that scene. Driving up, the building looks pretty unassuming from the outside, all modern lines and glass, but parking was a breeze; there’s underground spots reserved for guests, which is a godsend because street parking in Dickson can get chaotic during peak dinner hours. Check-in was self-service via a lockbox – super straightforward, though I did fumble with the code for a sec because my phone signal dipped (classic Canberra reception quirk in those inner-north spots). Stepping inside, the apartment hit me with that fresh, clean smell – like linen and a hint of eucalyptus from the nearby reserves – and the place is decked out in this sleek, minimalist vibe with polished concrete floors that feel cool underfoot, even in summer.

What really sold me was how it balances that apartment feel with hotel perks, you know? Inside, the kitchen’s fully stocked with decent appliances; I whipped up breakfast using stuff from the Dickson Woolies, which is literally across the road. Beds are comfy, queen-sized with those memory foam toppers, though the pillows were a tad flat for my liking – nothing a quick fluff couldn’t fix. Oh, and the Wi-Fi’s reliable, which mattered for me catching up on work emails while overlooking the views toward Mount Ainslie. Noise-wise, it’s mostly peaceful, but you might hear some traffic from Northbourne Avenue if your window faces that way – earplugs helped on busier nights. It’s not flawless; the bathroom’s modern with rain showers, but the hot water took a minute to kick in, sort of like those older Canberra builds retrofitted for efficiency.

All in all, if you’re heading to Canberra for a mix of work and play – say, checking out Parliament House or hitting the markets in Braddon – this place is a smart pick without breaking the bank.   I liked the bed, the cleanliness, the decor and being close to the tram and being able to feel comfortable in my environment. Would happily stay again.

  What could be improved: the frosted glass in the bathroom was see through and the frosted glass in the bed room you could see into shower. this would be ok for a couple but we were mother and son.
  We walked out of the appartment and out into the street with out the keys there was no way back into the appartment building ,we were locked out for hours waiting for someone to come out of the building.
