I mean, parking was a breeze – there’s secure underground spots, which is a godsend in the city center where spots vanish like magic during peak hours. Check-in was super straightforward; the host (it’s more like a serviced apartment setup than a traditional hotel) met me at the door with a key code and a quick rundown – no fuss, no long lines like at some of the bigger chains nearby. Walking in, the place hit me with that fresh, new-build smell, all sleek lines and polished concrete floors that feel cool underfoot after a day exploring. It’s rated a solid 9.1 for a reason, and as a 4-star spot, it punches above its weight without trying too hard.

What really sold me was how it felt like a proper home base in the heart of things – you know, that one-bedroom loft layout with high ceilings and big windows letting in tons of natural light, making the space feel way bigger than it is. The kitchenette’s kitted out with everything from a Nespresso machine (hello, morning caffeine fix) to a full fridge, so I whipped up a quick brekkie before heading out to the National Gallery, which is literally a 10-minute walk away along those leafy paths by the lake. And the amenities? The pool on the rooftop is a highlight – heated, with views over to Parliament House, perfect for a lazy afternoon dip when the Canberra chill sets in (it can get nippy even in spring, fair warning). There’s a gym too, nothing flashy but functional with free weights and ellipticals – I squeezed in a session one evening while listening to the distant hum of traffic from Russell, that nearby defense precinct that’s always buzzing but never intrusive here. Oh, and the bed? Super comfy king-size with those crisp white linens that smell faintly of lavender – slept like a log, though I will say the street noise picks up a bit during rush hour if you’re a light sleeper; earplugs helped, or just close the blackout curtains and you’re golden.

All in all, if you’re heading to Canberra for work or a weekend getaway – maybe checking out the War Memorial or grabbing craft beers at BentSpoke in Braddon, which is an easy Uber from here – this loft is a smart pick. Sure, it’s not got a full restaurant on-site (you’ll pop out to nearby spots like Akiba for killer Asian fusion), but that’s part of the charm – it forces you to explore the city.   Exceptional property 90% of the time. VERY HARD to locate the parking spot for the first time. One of the electronically controlled blinds was not working but the owner fixed it the next day.
  
  What could be improved: The difficulty in locating the parking spot and access to the parking garage for the first time. I am not sure whether there is anything more the owners can do because it is the parking garage chaotic numbering system (or lack there of) for the parking spots of the entire complex that makes it hard for first timers.

  It was nice to make breakfast as there was a kettle and a coffee machine which was a bonus for my mum! The apartment was very safe and secure. We loved it! We will definitely be back! 🙂
  
  What could be improved: Finding the parking spot was stressful and hard. There were not really any signs to clearly display where to park. I had to get out of the car and look while mum waited in the car. This was the only negative! Everything else was great!

Because the layout is numbered crazy in the basements with no signage what so ever please ensure your number is clear and easy to read for your guests. Maybe put a logo or sign on your parking locker to stand out a little?

  Great location near the city. Modern apartment with all facilities. Excellent instructions and advice provided by the owners re local attractions. Easy access and private secure parking included. Very friendly and helpful owners.

  The location was convenient and the apartment was spotlessly clean. We only stayed for a night so didn’t use the downstairs area much but it was a very comfortable place to stay and has everything we needed. The host Harry was very friendly and easy to communicate with. The bonus was that we could use his Ev charging over night, much appreciated, will recommend to friends and come back in the future.

  What could be improved: I’m going to say the car park. It took forever (45 minutes) to find the car spot. The paint had faded and the numbers are not in sequence. I did follow instructions but because the number was faded I searched the whole car park.
