What struck me right away was how the staff seemed to genuinely know the area, not just the standard tourist spots. This four-star property sits on West Row, and honestly, the location couldn’t be much better for exploring Canberra properly.

Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re literally walking distance from the city center, but you’re not stuck in some concrete jungle. The Parliamentary Triangle is right there, which means you can actually stroll to major attractions without dealing with Canberra’s sometimes tricky public transport. Couples seem to absolutely love it here (they rate the location 9.3, which is pretty impressive), and I get why. You can walk to decent restaurant for dinner, then wander around Lake Burley Griffin afterward. The parking situation is sorted too — they’ve got private spots on-site, which is honestly a relief in a city where finding a park can be a bit of a nightmare.

The Apartment Setup

The room I stayed in was actually more like a proper studio apartment — and I mean that in the best way. There’s a decent-sized kitchenette with everything you’d actually need (not just a kettle and some sad instant coffee). The bed was comfortable enough, and the whole space felt like somewhere you could settle in for more than just a night or two. Storage was well thought out, which matters when you’re unpacking properly. The bathroom was modern and clean — nothing fancy, but everything worked as it should.

Practical Perks

What I appreciated was how this place handles the practical stuff without making a big deal about it. The Wi-Fi actually works properly throughout the building, the air conditioning responds when you adjust it, and housekeeping doesn’t wake you up at dawn. There’s a decent restaurant downstairs if you can’t be bothered cooking, though honestly, with that kitchenette setup, you might want to grab some local produce and make your own breakfast. The front desk staff know their stuff about Canberra — they pointed me toward some local spots I wouldn’t have found otherwise.

  Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent location …walking distance to restaurants and shopping. Very clean and comfortable.

  Perfect and central location in walking proximity to good quality Bars, restaurants and museums etc.
  Staff very friendly and helpful. Parking at the rear, very handy. Fantastic balcony for room 7. Excellent value for money.

  The odd bit of noise through the evening, from downstairs pub, but understandable if you want to stay in a central location like this one.
