Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw the name Exclusive Braddon 2BR APT near Civic – Hosted by Canstay, I thought it sounded a bit corporate. But you know what? Sometimes the places with the clunky names end up surprising you, and this apartment absolutely did that for me.

The location in Braddon is actually pretty brilliant if you know Canberra at all. I mean, you’re basically a stone’s throw from Lonsdale Street with all those trendy cafes and bars, but far enough away that you won’t hear drunk people wandering around at 2 AM. The walk to Civic takes maybe ten minutes – I timed it because I’m weird like that – and it’s mostly downhill, which your morning coffee run will definitely appreciate. What really sold me on this place though was how it feels like you’re staying in someone’s actual home rather than some sterile hotel room. The two bedrooms are genuinely spacious (not that “cozy” nonsense that usually means tiny), and whoever set this place up actually thought about what people need. There are proper bedside tables, decent lighting for reading, and – this might sound silly – but the shower pressure is fantastic. You’d be amazed how many places get that wrong.

The kitchen is where this apartment really shines, honestly. It’s got everything you need if you want to cook a proper meal, not just reheat leftovers. I ended up making dinner most nights because the setup just invited it, plus there’s a decent grocery store about a five-minute walk away. The living area flows nicely into the kitchen, so it doesn’t feel cramped when you’ve got a few people hanging around. Parking was surprisingly stress-free too – there’s a designated spot, which in Canberra’s inner suburbs is basically gold. The Canstay hosting situation worked out well; they were responsive when I had a question about the WiFi setup, but otherwise left me completely alone, which is exactly how I like it. The building itself is pretty quiet – I think most of the other units are occupied by young professionals rather than party animals, so nights were peaceful. My only minor gripe would be that the living room could use blackout curtains if you’re sensitive to morning light, but honestly, that’s me being picky. The whole experience felt relaxed and unfussy, which after dealing with some of Canberra’s stuffier accommodation options, was exactly what I needed.
