Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard the name Palko – Stylish in the City, I was a bit skeptical. It sounds like something a marketing team dreamed up over too much coffee, you know? But after spending a few nights there, I actually get what they’re going for. This place has this effortless cool vibe that doesn’t feel forced or try-hard, which is honestly refreshing in a world where every boutique hotel seems to be competing for who can be the most “unique.”

The moment you walk in, there’s this immediate sense that someone with actual taste designed this space – not just threw together some trendy furniture and called it a day. The lobby has this perfect balance of modern and warm, with these gorgeous textured walls that I kept finding myself running my hand along (don’t judge me). What really got me though was how they’ve managed to create intimate spaces within what’s clearly a decent-sized property. There are these little nooks and corners where you can actually have a conversation without feeling like you’re performing for the entire hotel. The staff genuinely seems to care too, which makes such a difference – they remember your name, they ask how your day was, and it doesn’t feel scripted.

Here’s the thing that really impressed me: the attention to details that actually matter. The lighting in the rooms is spot-on – bright enough to read but warm enough to relax, and they’ve got these blackout curtains that actually work (you’d be surprised how many places get this wrong). The shower pressure is excellent, the Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out every five minutes, and the beds are that perfect firmness where you sink in just enough without feeling like you’re being swallowed. I mean, these sound like basic things, but when you travel as much as I do, you realize how rare it is to find a place that nails all the fundamentals. The whole experience feels thoughtfully curated rather than hastily assembled, and with an 8.9 rating from other guests, it’s clear I’m not the only one who feels this way. It’s the kind of place where you find yourself extending your stay just because you’re not quite ready to leave that bubble of well-designed comfort.

  The location was awesome, the apartment spacious and had most things we need, great parking and easy to access.
  
  What could be improved: We couldn’t find a bathplug for our kids to use the bath and one of the lounge area blinds wouldn’t go down. The shower was also missing a handheld shower head and a little tricky to use.

  Fabulous locations and kitchen was well appointed. Rooms are much smaller than they look and lighting was a little odd.
