I mean, being able to control the temperature and lighting from your phone sounds gimmicky until you’re lying in bed and realize you can dim everything without getting up.

What really struck me about this place is how it sits right in the heart of Braddon’s creative quarter. You’re literally walking distance from Lonsdale Street’s café scene, and honestly, some of the best coffee in Canberra is just around the corner. The neighborhood has this interesting mix of young professionals and artists, so there’s always something happening – but it’s not the kind of loud, touristy buzz that keeps you awake at night. Actually, the soundproofing is surprisingly good for what’s essentially an apartment building. I stayed during a weekend when there was live music at one of the nearby venues, and I barely heard it once I was inside. The apartment itself feels spacious in that way that makes you forget you’re in a compact urban setup. There’s proper kitchen facilities too, which is perfect since Braddon has some fantastic local markets where you can grab fresh ingredients. I found myself cooking breakfast a few times just because the kitchen was so well-equipped and it felt natural to do so. The whole experience has this relaxed, residential vibe that’s pretty refreshing compared to the usual hotel routine of room service menus and continental breakfast buffets. Parking can be a bit tricky in this part of town – street parking fills up during business hours, but they’ve sorted out arrangements that actually work for guests, which shows they understand the neighborhood dynamics.

  What could be improved: The booking process is unnecessarily lengthy (between the management and Booking.com I received 8 emails requesting info & waivers); the keys have to be collected in Kingston about 10mins drive from Braddon where the apartment is & not easy to locate the office; the apartments have 2 separate towers and the paring situation is not intuitive. It´s a comfortable, clean apartment (you get some traffic noise if that bothers you) with great facilities – but the above made the experience a bit painful.
