Prestige Waterfront Apartment in Kingston, ACT Overview

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard about Prestige Waterfront Apartment in Kingston, ACT, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. The name sounds a bit fancy, maybe even pretentious, but you know what? Sometimes those assumptions get turned on their head, and this was definitely one of those times.

The thing about Kingston is that it’s this interesting pocket of Canberra that feels more like a proper neighborhood than just another government district. I mean, you’ve got the old power station turned into trendy apartments, decent coffee spots that aren’t trying too hard, and honestly – the lake access is pretty spectacular when you catch it at the right time of day. This apartment sits right in that sweet spot where you can actually walk to Manuka for dinner (which, let’s face it, saves you the headache of driving around looking for parking) but you’re still close enough to the parliamentary triangle that business travelers won’t feel completely cut off from civilization.

What really got me about this place was the waterfront situation – and I don’t mean that in a cheesy brochure way. The apartment actually delivers on that promise, with views that change completely depending on the season and time of day. Early morning, you’ll catch rowers gliding across Lake Burley Griffin, and there’s something genuinely peaceful about having your coffee while watching that routine unfold. The space itself feels more like someone’s actual home than a sterile rental property, which honestly makes such a difference when you’re staying somewhere for more than just a night or two. The kitchen‘s properly equipped (I’m talking beyond the usual hotel kettle situation), and there’s enough room to spread out if you’re traveling with family or need to work from the apartment. Parking was straightforward too – none of that circling-the-block nonsense you sometimes get in the more central parts of Canberra. The only thing I’d mention is that weekend evenings can get a bit lively with people heading to the Kingston foreshore, but it’s more of a pleasant buzz than anything disruptive. For the money and the location, especially if you want something that feels more residential than hotel-corporate, this place really delivers on what it promises.

Hotels near me in Canberra offer convenient access to the city center, where guests can easily reach Parliament House, Australian War Memorial, and authentic Australian restaurants.

  • Great apartment in a fabulous location. Nicely appointed and with easy access. Booking process worked extremely well a – Natalie from Australia – 27 May 2025 (7/10)

Fantastic location, nice layout and easy access. Very modern and nicely decorated. A really nice ambience and felt very cozy and comfortable.

What could be improved: Bed cover a little too small for the bed and mattress was a little on soft side. When plugging in charger in bedroom noticed quite a bit of dust build up behind bed head and cobwebs. LED light under mirror in bathroom faulty and flickering. Dining table very nice but a smaller one probably would suit considering it is a one bedroom apartment. Banged my head on shaving mirror which would have been better if recessed.
