You know what caught me off guard about Roomy 2BR 2BA City-Centre Apt – Hosted by CanStay? It’s actually way more spacious than most city-center places I’ve stayed in – and I mean properly spacious, not that “European cozy” thing where you can barely open your suitcase. The moment I walked in, I got that rare feeling of being able to actually spread out and breathe, which honestly doesn’t happen often when you’re staying right in the thick of things downtown.

The setup is pretty smart too – having two full bathrooms means you’re not doing that awkward dance with travel companions over morning routines, and both bedrooms are genuinely separate spaces where you can close the door and have some privacy. I really appreciated that the living area doesn’t feel like an afterthought either; there’s a proper couch where you can actually relax after a day of exploring, not one of those weird hotel chairs that look nice but hurt your back. The kitchen is functional enough that you could cook real meals if you wanted to skip the restaurant scene for a night or two (which, let’s be honest, sometimes you just need to do that).

What I found most impressive was how CanStay has this whole thing dialed in – the check-in process was smooth, none of that fumbling around with lockboxes or waiting for someone to show up. They clearly know what they’re doing when it comes to hosting, and it shows in those little details that matter when you’re tired from traveling. The place stays pretty quiet despite being centrally located, though you’ll hear some street noise if you’re a really light sleeper – just something to keep in mind. The neighborhood itself has that great mix where you can walk to most of the main attractions without feeling like you’re stuck in pure tourist territory. I mean, there are actual locals doing their grocery shopping and walking their dogs, which always makes a place feel more authentic to me. With ratings consistently hitting 8.8 out of 10, it’s clear other travelers are having similar experiences – this isn’t just one of those places that looks good in photos but disappoints in person.

  The location of this apartment is unbeatable. So private and quiet!
  Everything is accessible , on foot in less than 15minutes.
  Plenty of cafes and restaurants at your doorstep.
  Uber access to local attractions is quite affordable.
  The apartment was clean and tidy, there were small touches that were very practical , making the stay stress free. Such as provision of a hair dryer in each bathroom, clothes washing detergent, bathroom supplies, a clothes steamer , clothes hanger and dishwasher tablets.

  The key box might have been a challenge but the host has thoughtfully done a you tube to explain it thoroughly.
  The location is in walking distance of many restaurants and bars. Free parking. Great views. Spacious unit. Responsive host.
  
  What could be improved: There was a coffee pod machine but no pods. Easily fixed as only $5 for 10 pods but would’ve been nice for the host to have provided a couple. Pillows may need replacing.

  Great Location with the added bonus of car parking particularly given the cost of parking in Canberra. The apartment is walking distance to supermarkets and there is a fantastic selection of restaurants, cafes, and bars again all in walking distance. The balcony is also a bonus for an afternoon drink or two.
  
  What could be improved: The one thing we did notice was how light the apartment is from around 5.00am did make for a long day but it was only a short stay – maybe I'd pack a sleep mask for next trip.

  What could be improved: The building should be safer. When trying to access the bin just before check-out, there was someone using hard drugs with the door open in the building's unisex toilet on the ground floor.
