Dana-Central Apartment with Mount Ainslie Views Overview

First Impressions

Walking into Dana-Central Apartment with Mount Ainslie Views, you immediately get that “this is someone’s actual home” feeling — which makes sense, because it basically is. The apartment sits right on City Walk, and honestly, the location couldn’t be better if you tried. I mean, you’re literally in the heart of Canberra‘s city center, but what really caught my attention was stepping onto that balcony and seeing Mount Ainslie stretching out in front of you. It’s one of those views that makes you pause your unpacking and just take it in for a moment.

The Perfect Canberra Base

Here’s what I love about this spot — you can walk to pretty much everything that matters in Canberra. The Australian War Memorial is right there, Lake Burley Griffin is a pleasant stroll away, and if you want to explore the Parliamentary Triangle, you’re already perfectly positioned. What’s really clever is how the apartment gives you that residential feel while keeping you connected to the city’s main attractions. You know what’s also great? There’s private parking on site, which anyone who’s tried to find a decent parking spot in central Canberra will appreciate.

The Space Itself

The apartment has that comfortable, lived-in quality that makes extended stays actually enjoyable. The kitchen is properly equipped — not just the bare minimum you sometimes get with short-term rentals — so you can actually cook a decent meal if you want to. The living area flows nicely toward those Mount Ainslie views, and there’s enough space to spread out without feeling cramped. It’s not trying to be fancy or over-designed; it just works well for travelers who want something more substantial than a hotel room.

Those Mountain Views

Let me tell you about waking up to Mount Ainslie outside your window — it’s particularly nice in the early morning when the light hits the slopes just right. The mountain isn’t just a pretty backdrop either; if you’re into hiking or just want a good walk, the trails up there are accessible and rewarding. From the apartment, you can actually plan your route up the mountain while sipping your coffee, which feels like a very Canberra thing to do. The views change throughout the day too, so you’ll find yourself glancing out the window more often than you’d expect.

Why Guests Love It

Couples seem to really connect with this place — there’s something about having your own space in the city center that just works for romantic getaways or quiet escapes. The combination of urban convenience and those natural views creates this nice balance that’s hard to find elsewhere in Canberra. You’re close enough to walk to dinner in the city, but you can come back to your own peaceful space with a mountain view. It’s the kind of setup that makes you feel like a temporary local rather than just another tourist passing through, and that’s honestly worth quite a bit when you’re exploring a city like Canberra.

  • A good stay in an apartment which is in the heart of the city. Some issues in house, can be fixed. – Vkesarwani from Australia – 19 June 2025 (6/10)

    Location is central Canberra.

What could be improved: The house has some problems. The Kitchen exhaust was not working. The Shower is in a Spa which is too high to climb in. Ideally a 2 steps needed.

  • Value for money – Heather from Australia – 27 April 2025 (7/10)

The security of the building. CBD location. The value for money. Having a washing machine, dishwasher even though we didn't use it. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, cutlery and crockery.

What could be improved: The spa bath/shower was very hard to get in and out of. Some hand towels would of been appreciated. The laundry and bathroom could use a deep clean.

  • Excellent location with comfy accommodation – Daria from Australia – 11 March 2024 (8/10)

Excellent location and getting access to the keys was effortless. Apartment had a great floor plan and the extras like shampoo, conditioner, bodywash, laundry detergent, coffee and tea all greatly appreciated and a lovely touch.

What could be improved: Nothing we could comment on. Only very minor thing would be the lock box containing key was a little tricky to lock again. Nothing else though.

  • Great! – Bek from Australia – 30 September 2022 (8/10)
