Dana-Private Room in a shared duplex Apartment -3 Overview
First Impressions
Look, I’ll be honest — Dana-Private Room in a shared duplex Apartment -3 isn’t your typical hotel experience, and that’s exactly what makes it interesting. When I first pulled up to 222 City Walk in Canberra, I wasn’t sure what to expect from this shared duplex setup. But you know what? Sometimes the most memorable stays come from places that break the mold completely.
The Space
Your private room is actually quite decent — I mean, it’s got everything you need without feeling cramped. The duplex arrangement means you’re sharing common areas with other guests, which honestly creates this sort of casual, hostel-meets-home vibe that works surprisingly well. The apartment itself feels lived-in rather than sterile, and there’s something refreshing about having access to a proper kitchen when you want to grab a quick breakfast or store some snacks. The private parking is a real bonus too — you don’t realize how much of a hassle street parking can be in Canberra until you don’t have to deal with it.
Location Perks
Here’s where this place really shines — the location is genuinely excellent. I can see why couples rate it so highly (apparently 9.4 out of 10), because you’re right in the heart of things without the tourist trap feeling. City Walk puts you within easy reach of Canberra’s main attractions, and I found myself walking to most places rather than driving. The neighborhood has this nice residential feel during the day, but you’re still close enough to the action when you want it.
The Reality Check
Let’s talk about what this actually is — it’s budget-friendly accommodation that doesn’t feel cheap, if that makes sense. The shared spaces mean you might bump into other travelers, which can be either a plus or minus depending on your mood. I actually enjoyed the occasional chat over coffee, but if you’re looking for complete privacy, this might not be your thing. The 7.7 rating feels about right — it’s solid, reliable, and does what it promises without any fancy frills.
Why Guests Love It
What keeps people coming back (and rating the location so highly) is that sweet spot between affordability and comfort. You’re getting a private space in a prime location without paying hotel prices, and honestly, that’s harder to find than you’d think in Canberra. The duplex setup means you have more room to spread out than a typical hotel room, plus access to amenities like a full kitchen that can save you money on dining out. It’s not glamorous, but it’s smart — especially if you’re planning to spend most of your time exploring the city anyway.

Great location, clean, great view from the room!
What could be improved: Be aware that others' bathroom habits may cause inconvenience in sharing bathroomVery good – Rhonda from Australia – 13 January 2025 (8/10)
The location was fantastic and great value for money.
Host and I kept quite different hours so was quite private.
What could be improved: The booking.com page says the whole entire place is yours and the confirmation email says your apartment is confirmed so was a bit confused that it was only a very small room. For the price I was still happy.Very well located. – Digvijay from India – 9 October 2024 (8/10)

Location very handy to everything
What could be improved: All goodPerfect location for short stay with things to do in city center. – Mark from United States – 6 March 2024 (9/10)
The location was perfect for my needs. The central location meant I could walk to all the places I needed to get to.
What could be improved: Shared kitchen and bathroom and living room with another apartment. The fridge was already quite full when I arrived so other guests were obviously longer term guests. I never spent any time in the kitchen or living room areas and did not use the fridge.Very good – Mia from Australia – 18 February 2024 (8/10)
The location was super convenient! Having my own air con in the private room was definitely useful and appreciated on some of they days!
Good location and sharing the accommodation was useful – Christine from United Kingdom – 28 October 2022 (8/10)
Good central location and easily accessible to get picked up for trip.
What could be improved: Obtaining the key was awkward to see the numbers for the combination lock, but the keypad seemed awkward at first too. Required prior knowledge of how to use a digital lock but was sorted easily with a phone call.
