I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Lovely in Lyneham – 1bd 1bth Apt, I wasn’t expecting much from the name alone. But you know what? Sometimes the most straightforward places surprise you, and this little one-bedroom really did deliver on that “lovely” promise.

The apartment sits right in the heart of Lyneham, which honestly took me a while to figure out properly – it’s one of those Canberra suburbs that locals know well but visitors often overlook. What I actually loved about staying here was how genuinely residential it felt. You’re not in some sterile hotel corridor; you’re basically living like a local for however long you’re there. The morning routine becomes grabbing coffee from the kitchen (they’ve got everything you need, proper coffee maker included) and watching the neighborhood wake up through windows that actually open – seems basic, but after staying in sealed hotel rooms, it’s refreshing.

The space itself is compact but thoughtfully laid out. I mean, we’re talking about a true one-bedroom setup, so don’t expect to spread out like you’re in a resort suite, but everything has its place. The bathroom’s small but functional, and the bed was surprisingly comfortable – I’m picky about mattresses, and this one didn’t leave me waking up stiff. What struck me most was how clean everything felt without that overwhelming chemical smell you sometimes get in over-sanitized accommodations. The kitchen really makes the difference here; having a full fridge and actual counter space means you can actually cook if you want to, or at least store leftovers from Canberra’s surprisingly decent food scene. Parking was straightforward too, which in some parts of the capital can be a real headache.

Lyneham itself grows on you – it’s got that quiet suburban vibe during the day, but you’re still close enough to everything that matters. I walked to a few local cafes that clearly cater to residents rather than tourists, which gave the whole stay a more authentic feel. The neighborhood gets properly quiet at night, so if you’re someone who needs absolute silence to sleep, you’ll appreciate that. Honestly, this place works best if you’re looking for somewhere to actually stay rather than just crash between activities. It’s got that home-away-from-home thing down without trying too hard to be boutique or trendy. For the price point and the genuine comfort level, I’d definitely consider staying here again – especially if I was in town for more than just a quick weekend and wanted to feel settled rather than just housed.

  The property was clean spacious and comfortable. The location was close enough to everything.
  
  What could be improved: The check-in and check- out process was annoying, confusing, frustrating and there was little signage in basement garage to indicate there were 2 entry points to the different buildings as there was no internet reception in basement car park to follow instructions provided. In the property there was no manual or information with wifi, check out ,garbage and location etc details.

  The view from the apartment was nice. Kitchen was equipped so suitable for cooking.
  
  What could be improved: 1. Having to pick up the keys from a lock box that was not at the site of the accommodation.
  2. Not receiving prompt responses from host, when necessary.
  3. Paying $500.00 as a deposit for unforeseen damages.

  Immaculate apartment, everything in the kitchen that we needed, close to food only a short walk and we really liked the secure parking.
  
  What could be improved: The only downfall was going into town to collect the keys from the office and my keys weren’t in the box.

  Very clean and quiet , bed absolutely comfortable , my car was very sucure in underground parking.. Lovely view.. Myself and my young daughter felt very safe as its in a sucure building.. Host was amazing and friendly..

  Quiet at night. Very new. Very secure. Lots of casual restaurants and a supermarket within 10min walk.
  
  What could be improved: Nothing negative with the property but watch out for cyclists on the walking/cycling paths and the pedestrian crossing at the back of the building where you exit the car park. They fly along and visibility at the crossing is not great.

  Good location with parking included. Easy to catch the tram into Civic. Plenty of space and well equipped. Quiet.
  
  What could be improved: Communication regarding key handover is not timely, only 24hrs in advance which isn't great for a long haul traveler. And that is when we found out that we would need to go to another location altogether to get them! And then they key box code was wrong. We were exhausted and this felt like such a hassle.
